[Psycopg] long term usage of import psycopg2.psycopg1 as psycopg

I am in the process of migrating psychopg1 to psycopg2 and I am lazy, 
lazy.  Is there a strong reason to stay away from long term usage of:

import psycopg2.psycopg1 as psycopg

?
